Mumbai Indians Come Out Victorious Against Delhi Capitals In The First-Ever Women’s Premiere League!

The very first Women’s Premier League was such an overwhelming ride, for not just the cricket players but also the audience who became spectators to every moment of this historic championship. On March 26, 2023, the WPL finally came to an end with the final face-off between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. And Mumbai Indians came out as champions of this very first and historic WPL.

The final Women’s Premier League match occurred on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The interesting match between the finalists ended on a victorious note for the Mumbai Indians as they won the title of the first-ever Women’s Premiere League (WPL). The team beat Delhi Capitals by a whopping seven wickets. The partnership of Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat-Sciver Brunt did wonders for the winning team. Sciver-Brunt also scored a half-century in the final match of the WPL whereas Harmanpreet Kaur scored 37 runs in 39 balls.

Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav played exceptionally well for the Delhi Capitals to keep their side strong. Nat Sciver-Brunt of the MI received the prize for the best player of the game, while Harmanpreet Kaur took home the prize for the best catch of the season. Her one-handed catch during the match against UP Warriorz was hailed and how!

The official social media handle of Mumbai Indians announced this victorious win by sharing a group picture of the team lifting their first-ever WPL trophy.
