Exclusive: Park Bo-Kyoung Reveals Kids’ Hilarious Reaction To Her Dark Roles: “They Always Say Bad…”
In an exclusive interview, Park Bo-Kyoung revealed how her kids react to these parts.
1. Given your past concerns regarding how your children might perceive your darker characters, what has their reaction been to your performance in villainous roles?
A: They’re always saying things like, “Bad mom! You’re so mean!” And whenever I get punished or taken away by the police, they’ll say, “I knew it!” They really, really love seeing good rewarded and evil punished.
2. From Little Women to The Art of Sarah, you’ve played some remarkably dark figures. Does that intensity linger after “cut”, or can you shake it off instantly?
A: As soon as I hear “Cut”, I’m ready to head straight home. I have so much more to do at home, so I tend to quickly switch back into my role as a mom.
3. With projects like Squid Game Season 2, Genie, Make a Wish, and The Art of Sarah, your reach has gone global. Has that international scale changed how you approach your work?
A: Of course. Even though I’ve never met them in person, whenever I come across their comments, I’m reminded of just how much love our K-dramas receive. It makes me feel an even greater sense of responsibility, and their words truly give me strength as well.
