1st ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup To Begin In SA, Shafali Verma Will Lead Team India
All the best Team India!As we all know, the world is crazy about cricket, especially India. Even though it is not our national game, the love Indians have for cricket is truly unbeatable. And if you are a fan of the sport, we have great news for you. The first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is all set to begin in South Africa and Shafali Verma is going to lead Team India.
On January 14, the first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup will begin in South Africa. The women’s tournament will take place within the 20-over format and a total of 41 matches will be played before the final match, which is held on January 29. A total of 16 teams will be part of the cricket tournament. Countries like Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe automatically qualified for the event. The eleven nations were joined by one team each of the International Cricket Council’s five regions – the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Rwanda, Indonesia, and Scotland.
Speaking of Team India, it will be captained by Shafali Verma. The opening batter has been playing for the senior team since 2019. Recently, all the 16 captains assembled at Nelson Mandela Square to click a picture together before the tournament begins.

Team India also interacted with cricketer Mithali Raj and she shared her experiences with the young players.

All the matches will be held across four different venues in Potchefstroom and Benoni. The event was supposed to be held in the year 2021. However, it was pushed back due to the pandemic.
