In Pune, A Bride Gets Booked For Violating Covid-19 Protocols At Her Wedding Photoshoot

Yes, it is true that since the Covid-19 pandemic began, all our plans have been put on hold. Whether it is going on a road trip with friends that you never thought would see the light of the day or having your dream wedding, it looks like all plans are being held hostage by this pandemic. Needless to say that things have not gone the way we planned and that has left us frustrated. But now that things have opened up a bit and Covid-19 restrictions have eased, people are trying to go back to the life they had before. From traveling to Manali to weddings – people are desperately trying to stay safe but still have fun.

But having said that, even though the Covid-19 restrictions have eased up- it does not change the fact that there is a third wave that is lurking around and waiting to take over. Especially in states like Maharashtra where the condition hangs in a fine balance. There is a need to follow covid protocol.

Recently, in Pune, Maharashtra, there was a case that was registered against a bride for sitting on the bonnet of her car without wearing a mask and violating Covid-19 protocols. The bride was engrossed in her wedding photoshoot due to which she and people with her violated the Covid-19 protocols.

According to the report filed with the police, the report regarding the violations of Covid-19 protocols was lodged against the driver of the car, the bride, the cameraman, and others who were involved in the wedding photoshoot. Even the camera used for the shoot has been seized by the police.

The wedding photoshoot had taken place on a Tuesday and the video of the photoshoot had gone viral on social media. The police dealing with the violation of the Covid-19 protocol case have booked all of the violators under Section 269, 188, 279, 107, 336, 34 of the IPC, along with relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, Maharashtra COVID management act, and the Motor vehicle act.

And even though this incident seems unfair to some, the truth is that Maharashtra, earlier this year, had been one of the worst-hit states in India. In fact, there were more than 67,000 cases reported in a day during the second wave of Covid-19 in April.

Now, even though the Covid-19 numbers have been considerably low, the fact remains that we are still not out of it. We still need to follow the necessary precautions – like wearing masks, double masking, sanitizing, maintaining social distancing, etc. We need to help each other and the country in avoiding the third wave of Covid-19 as much as possible. Because if not, we can only imagine how many more deaths and grief it will bring.
