6 Weight Loss And Fitness Tips From Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar’s Instagram That Are Total Mythbusters

By  |

Fitness is an important part of our life but it doesn’t always go hand in hand with health. Most of us tend to set unrealistic fitness or weight loss goals and then in order to achieve them we turn to intense workouts and strict diets. While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to stay fit and including an intense workout session in your daily routine, it is important that you pick your diet carefully. The wrong diet can be detrimental to your health. This is exactly why we love nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar and her Instagram account where she shared numerous tips. Apart from eating healthy, Rujuta also stresses the importance of tracking daily activity and sleep along with exercise in order to stay fit. And she does not believe in unrealistic fitness goals or standards.

Rujuta Diwekar believes in eating locally sourced seasonal food and does not villainize food groups but what she does villanize are unhealthy diets! So, while stalking Rujuta Diwekar’s Instagram handle, we came across some amazing health and fitness advice from the nutritionist which everyone should follow religiously. Take a look.

The nutritionist believes in following a routine in order to stay healthy. Rujuta Diwekar says that we don’t need a special diet or pills to boost our immunity because that can simply be done by sleeping early, waking up early, not skipping meals, and exercising regularly. In fact, she believes that it is the most ‘underrated and undervalued’ way to boost one’s immunity.

The food and nutritional expert says that eating locally sourced, seasonal and traditional meals is the best way to stay fit and healthy. Diving food into carbs, protein, fat and calories is not the right way to diet, according to Rujuta. She also believes that one should eat without complaining or being fussy about our food and follow a diet that is sustainable even at an old age. She does not believe in following ‘special diets’ or ‘cleanses’.

4. Consistency Is Essential

According to Diwekar, fitness and weight loss is not something you can achieve by just stepping away once you’ve achieved your goal. As per the nutritionist, it is important to remain consistent and follow your basic fitness regime even after you achieve your weight loss goal because once you stop, you will end up gaining weight once again. Skipping workout sessions is not going to help your case.

Apart from portion control and traditional food, Rujuta also promotes eating at a regulated and right time. Eating at the right time can prevent you from binge eating and according to the nutritionist, if you are late for lunch stick to eating a light fruit like a banana in the meanwhile. And it’s not just about the time of the day, it’s also about eating the right food in the right season too.

Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar regularly shares body-positivity posts and says that size and weight are not indicators of fitness or fatness. You could be fat according to your body shape, size and weight but you could still be fit! Conforming to social norms of ‘health and fitness’ is not the right way to stay healthy. After all, health is wealth.
