Zoë Kravitz Reveals That Catwoman Is Bisexual In ‘The Batman’ Just Like The Comics. Finally!
Let’s face it, we’re all super duper excited about The Batman. And just as we gear up for its release on March 4, there have been some interesting revelations about Catwoman aka Selina Kyle. In the comics, Catwoman has often been depicted as bisexual but this aspect of her sexuality hasn’t been shown on the big screen yet. In other cinematic adaptations of the comics, Catwoman is implied as heterosexual, with her attraction being limited to Bruce Wayne. But in the latest rendition of the Catwoman, she has been categorically shown as bisexual. Yepp, you read that right. After Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry and Anne Hathway, Zoë Kravitz is the latest actor to portray Catwoman in The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and the actress has revealed that her version of Catwoman will be bisexual in the film.
FYI, in one of the scenes of The Batman, Selina Kyle aka Catwoman enters her home looking for her friend Anika and calls her ‘baby’ which would make one think that there is more to their relationship than just friendship. When asked about the same by Pedestrian TV, Zoë Kravitz shared that according to her interpretation, Catwoman and Anika had ‘some kind of romantic relationship’. When the reporter expressed excitement regarding the portrayal of Catwoman as bisexual in the cinematic universe the actress also agreed that she was happy to see it finally happen.

The director Matt Reeves revealed that while Selina Kyle is not yet Catwoman she has all the elements of becoming Catwoman. Speaking about Selina Kyle’s relationship with Anika, the director revealed that he spoke to Zoë Kravitz about it shared his plans. He further added that while they did not mean to ‘go directly in that way’, one can interpret it that way too. He went on to say, “She has an intimacy with that character and it’s a tremendous and deep caring for that character, more so than a sexual thing, but there was meant to be quite an intimate relationship between them.”
