If there’s a DC movie that I would watch again and again, then it has to be Dark Knight (2008) starring Heath Ledger as the Joker. I mean, who doesn’t? Having said that, after a very long time I was actually waiting for another Batman movie. Why? Well, because it has Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz. Let me JUST say that The Batman is, barring childhood nostalgia for Burton, my FAVORITE Bat-movie ever. It's everything I've ever wanted from a Batman story and a Batman performance. All the performances are very good, Robert Pattinson is SPECTACULAR.

THE BATMAN: There's nothing funny about Matt Reeves' spellbinding reboot, which leaps past comic book origins to unleash malevolent energy. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 is magnificent as both the Dark Knight and Bruce Wayne, damaged souls in a diseased Gotham City. #TheBatman pic.twitter.com/KHPpP5YQub

I never thought I would see a Batman movie like #TheBatman: an actual detective story, methodically paced, dripping with atmosphere, modestly stylish. And it's sort of incredible to look at. @GreigFraser_dp and @mattreevesLA have crafted an aesthetic at once evocative and unique. pic.twitter.com/xSAPUDZrQF

THE BATMAN is very very very emo

Review posting on YouTube shortly, but I really dug #TheBatman. I’d still like a new take on the character that embraces the fantastical side of things (give me Clayface and Man-Bat!) but I got very into Reeves’ depiction of Gotham and Pattinson’s weirdo version of the character.

It's kind of like if Francis Ford Coppola produced a remake of Chinatown that was directed by David Fincher & took place in the Batman universe while the writer listened to Nirvana when scripting the art piece.#TheBatman #MattReeves #RobertPattinson

I loved, loved, loved #TheBatman, Matt Reeves’ invigorating balm for superhero movie fatigue. It’s the Batman I’ve always wanted to see, captured in a stylish and arresting detective noir. A new, definitive Gotham City. Pattinson and Kravitz are aces. https://t.co/cYLNRB4mVm

#TheBatman is a triumph – it’s thrilling, cerebral, funny, heartbreaking. Dragging around a fucking enormous magnifying glass in nearly every scene, Robert Pattinson finally delivers a Batman who really feels like The World’s Greatest Detective. Best DC film since DARK KNIGHT

#TheBatman is a dark and thrilling ride through Gotham City, and can't stop thinking about Paul Dano's performance. Greig Fraser shines with that stunning cinematography in #TheBatman. His work here is breathtaking. Michael Giacchino has delivered his finest score to date. pic.twitter.com/pMnRkpa5gI

WOW. #TheBatman is the BEST crafted Batman film of ALL TIME. Robert Pattinson is PERFECT for the role & Matt Reeves’ direction shines with all departments firing on all cylinders. A masterful technical achievement that becomes one of the greatest comic book movies of all time pic.twitter.com/ROIOCKExkQ

#TheBatman is fantastic! A three hour story that feels focused on the caped crusader, instead of his villains, which are still very present here! Pattinson kills it as a tormented Bruce Wayne. Tone overall reminded me of films like Zodiac and Se7en. Some choices might upset fans. pic.twitter.com/tvdQeEEdE8

This is the Batman movie I have always wanted! A straight up detective story full of twists and turns that didn't feel like 3 hours at all. Robert Pattinson is perfect for this version of Bruce/Batman. I cannot wait to see more of this world Matt Reeves is building. #TheBatman pic.twitter.com/XzjuI9syi8

#THEBATMAN is a film about people above anything else. It cuts like a person, absorbs like a person, observes like a person, and moves like a person. To experience Reeves' latest is to experience the feeling of sitting still while uncontrollably moving forward.

Matt Reeves has made THE definitive BATMAN film with THE BATMAN. Think of Se7en but set in Gotham. Robert Pattinson’s eyes are so intense & observant under the black cowl while Michael Giacchino’s score is a grand & haunting masterwork. An epic, dark & thematically rich neo-noir. pic.twitter.com/wAFexaPYEF

I never thought that I’d like another Batman movie the way I like Dark Knight but reading all these reviews has me thinking that I just might be wrong. And trust me, this is one of the few times I wouldn’t mind being wrong.
The Batman is all set to have a theatrical release on March 4th, 2022. Yep, it’s right around the corner!
