‘Seinfeld’ Actor Estelle Harris Passes Away Due To Natural Causes At Age 93. Onscreen Son Jason Alexander And Others Mourn
After the passing of talented legends such as Betty White, Lata Mangeshkar and Bob Saget, I had the audacity to assume and hope that 2022 wouldn’t get any worse. However, I was extremely and sadly mistaken. One of my favourite TV moms, aka Estelle Costanza, played by Estelle Harris has passed away at the age of 93 due to natural causes.
Estelle Constanza, was born as Estelle Nussbaum on April 22, 1928 in New York. She appeared on 27 episodes of Seinfeld between 1992 and 1998. She started the pursuit of acting in amateur community theatres and found success both on screen and on stage. She was a childhood name for a lot of us growing up as she was seen on shows like Seinfeld, Mrs Potato Head in Pixar’s Toy Story franchise (2, 3 and 4), The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, iCarly, The Looney Tunes Show, Phil of the Future, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Godzilla: The Series, Star Trek: Voyager, Aladdin and many, many more.
She was a woman of many talents, with a unique voice and sense of humour. She was known as the “Queen of Commercials,” on Madison Avenue having had booked 25 national TV spots in a year.
In a statement given to Deadline, her son Glen Harris said, “Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humour, empathy and love were practically unrivalled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”

Celebrities including her Seinfeld son Jason Alexander flooded Twitter with condolence wishes and reading them just broke my heart,
One of my favorite people has passed – my tv mama, Estelle Harris. The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always. #RIPEstelleHarris

Estelle Harris was funny, beautiful, kind & incredibly talented! We made a commercial together once and she told the director “I’m not doing another take until you promise to give Giselle this dress to keep!” ♥️♥️♥️ They gave me the dress. I will cherish knowing Estelle forever. pic.twitter.com/c7rSpqxtCp

The Costanzas are one of the great joys of Seinfeld. Always funny and horrifying. Such great performances from Jerry Stiller and Estelle Harris. RIP https://t.co/YfiO53x44d

After the death of her on-screen husband, Jerry Stiller, who played Frank Costanza, Estelle’s passing bears heavily on a lot of us. Sometimes people make an impact on you without even actually being a part of your life and Estelle Harris was one such person. She has played such an important role in all of our lives growing up that knowing she is now gone has left me feeling empty. May she rest in peace. Serenity now, Estelle.
