‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4 Teaser: Midge Is Back And She’s Gonna Change The Business. Thank You And Goodnight!
There are some shows that come and go and you don’t care much about them because you’d rather watch all the seasons at once in one, long binge. But then there are shows like The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, which you wait for eagerly to drop its new season, so you can binge it all in one day. And then, of course, you sit, drawing long sighs, as you wait for the next one. With Season 3 ending on quite the testing crossroads for Midge and Susie, I’ve been looking forward to see what this terrific duo do next. And thank the TV Gods, we have a Season 4 teaser! Rachel Brosnahan is back as the marvelous Midge Maisel, with Alex Borstein as Susie Myerson, her manager, by her side. The rest of the stellar (and Emmy Award-winning and nominated) cast of Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, and Luke Kirby is also back in this acclaimed series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino.

The new teaser immediately sets the tone for what Midge plans to do in her current situation, now that she’s been ditched as the opening act for Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain). And that is, demand that Susie does not book her any more opening acts, because she’d rather do what she is good a, minus any censorship. You know, just like her ‘friend’ Lenny Bruce does. Susie, ever the optimist (NOT) reminds her that it’s not how things are done. But Midge is all set to change the way business is done. Will she? And what about Midge’s personal life, which might I add, is going to come down like a pack of cards, because she probably won’t have her own house anymore, since her contract for Shy’s gig is void now. And what about Joel and Mei? And Abe’s new writing career?
As per the official synopsis, “It’s 1960 and change is in the air. Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft—and the places it takes her—creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her.”

But I think what has me the most excited are all the guest actors that will be popping up this season! I already LOVE Zachary Levi as Dr. Benjamin Ettenberg, as well as Jane Lynch as fellow comedian Sophie Lennon. We saw Sterling K. Brown make an appearance last season as Reggie, Shy’s manager who fired Midge from his show. And Liza Weil, aka Paris from Gilmore Girls, made an appearance too. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 has lots of such appearances, two, in fact, are once again Gilmore Girls alums—Milo Ventimiglia and Kelly Bishop! Thank the Palladino duo for getting stars from Stars Hollow to Midge’s club!
