‘Gully Boy’ Rapper MC Tod Fod Passes Away At 24. Zoya Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi Mourn His Demise

We’re barely three months into the year and we’ve already lost a lot of stars. And now, yet another death of an artist has sent shock waves across B-town. Rapper Dharmesh Parmar, also known as MC Tod Fod passed away at the young age of 24 years. The cause of the rapper’s death has not been revealed yet. MC Tod Fod was closely associated with the Mumbai-based hip-hop collective Swadesi. He was also one of the artists who sang for the Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alia Bhatt starrer 2019 film Gully Boy. The rapper lent his voice for the track ’91’ for the film. Soon after the news of the rapper’s demise broke, actors Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar shared their condolences.

Gully Boy director Zoya Akhtar mourned the demise of MC Tod Fod. Sharing the picture of the rapper on Instagram, the filmmaker wrote, “You have gone way too soon. I can only be grateful our paths crossed. Rest in peace Bantai.”

Taking to Instagram stories, Ranveer Singh shared a picture of rapper MC Tod Fod with a broken heart emoticon. Take a look at his story.

Siddhant Chaturvedi also shared a picture of the rapper along with a screenshot of an Instagram chat between the two on his Instagram story and wrote, “RIP bhai!” In the chat, Siddhant told the rapper that he loved the Gully Boy track ’91’ and called it his favourite. The rapper thanked the actor while complimenting his acting skills. MC Tod Fod told Siddhant Chaturvedi that his energy in the film made him look just like a real rapper.

For the unversed, the rapper was among 54 people along with Divine, Nazey, Sez on the beat, Jasleen Royal, Rishi Rich, Ace, Dub Sharma, Ishq Bector and more who contributed to the 18 soundtracks of the film Gully Boy. The film is inspired by the real stories of the lives of Indian street rappers Divine and Naezy.
