Young people are complaining of burnout these days and that is primarily due to the rise in hustle culture. Working 12 hours plus a day has been glorified to the extent that those who do a normal 9-5 job are being looked down upon. But in hindsight, the hustle culture is quite toxic and promoting the same is more problematic. Overworking and not giving your mind and body enough rest causes severe burnout. No matter how much ever you sleep but you still wake up feeling tired, exhausted and demotivated. If you are someone who has been experiencing burnout, here’s advice from a Twitter thread that sheds light on the different kinds of rest your body needs which will help you feel rested and fresh.

The Twitter user by the handle @SystemSunday shared a thread explaining the seven types of rest one needs if they are burned out.

The first type of rest was physical rest which includes sleeping for 7 hours every day and taking power naps how and when necessary. It also includes stretching, getting a massage and a comfortable work desk as well.

The second one is mental rest. Being mentally at peace is of utmost importance. For which the threat suggested that learning to keep personal and professional life separate is very important. Creating to-do lists also help in being mentally relaxed.

The third kind of rest is social rest. In this kind of rest, the circle you choose to be with is quite important as it can make or break your mental peace.

Then comes spiritual rest. Spiritual peace means engaging in activities that align with your beliefs and ideologies.

Up next is sensory rest. Social media contributes to toxicity the most and therefore, it is essential to learn when to turn off your social media interaction as well.

Then comes emotional rest. The lack of emotional rest implies that you have to fake your emotions and not be your true self.
