Amid the pandemic, we saw women workforce taking a hit due to job losses, pay cuts as well as an increase in household chores and responsibilities. And now as the world opens up, it looks like working women have taken a hit, yet again. According to the latest report by LinkedIn, the rigid back-to-office policies adopted by several Indian companies have forced female employees to leave their jobs. Nearly 7 out of 10 women have either left their jobs or are considering leaving due to the lack of flexible working policies.

According to a report by LinkedIn shared by LiveMint, women have been forced to take pay cuts and several have had their requests for work flexibility turned down forcing them to quit working. As per the study 83% women are more likely to want flexible working policies since the Covid-19 pandemic and 72% of the women workforce has said that they will not take up a job that does not have flexible working policies.

As per the report, 86% working women find flexible work timings helpful while 82% want reduced working hours and 82% want remote work policies and 82% want hybrid work policies. The report further suggests that only a few organisations are offering these policies. 31% organisations have flexible work timings, 25% have reduced working hours, 25% have remote work policies and 26% have hybrid work policies. This report titled Career Breaks and Flexibility Consumer Research 2022 comes just as companies begin asking employees to return to work from the office after working from home for over 2 years.
