Study Shows Women Will Accept 10% Pay Cut For Gender Inclusive Companies. Sad That We Must Compromise!

For women, gender inclusivity in any kind of job has become one of the most significant aspects when it comes to choosing a company. And well, that’s only because in India, women are still expected to leave their jobs so clearly they are looking for more flexibility while selecting roles. However, one way or the other, it is the women who are ultimately making compromises. And a recent study has found results that prove women are more inclined towards taking jobs in companies that are thoughtful about their requirements but at the cost of their salary.

The IT company IBM conducted research and the results showed that women no longer want to compromise their careers and therefore and make decisions accordingly. The study revealed that at least half per cent of the women are ready to take up jobs that are agreeing to some of their conditions even if there is a 10 per cent pay cut in the salary. Among the many criteria put forth by them, some are work flexibility, understanding management, and a proper childcare facility They are more inclined to accept offers from companies that are more gender inclusive in terms of theri working and consider the needs of a female employee so they don’t end up leaving their jobs.

The IBM reports also showed that companies that are more gender-inclusive make 19 per cent more revenue that the ones that are not. They are of course more likely to attract more female talent than the ones who keep their eyes and ears shut to the wants of women.

The research is clearly an eye-opener to show that women are seeking companies that pay heed to their requirements so they ultimately don’t need to quit their careers, which is the case still. Because of various personal reasons, it is always a woman who has to give up on her career because her job does not have the flexibility, especially after she becomes a mother. But the report also becomes proof that ultimately if required, women need to compromise somewhere, in this case, it is a salary cut! We hope that there are changes made where more and more companies make gender-inclusive policies but women don’t have to suffer!
