Woman Had To Sell Her Dream Home Because She Could See Her Neighbour Shower! Even Homes Need Social Distancing!

Woman Had To Sell Her Dream Home Because She Could See Her Neighbour Shower! Even Homes Need Social Distancing!

I was having a pretty sucky day when I came across this news. It made me LOL quite a bit (sadly at the misfortune of the woman in question) so I thought you deserve a little of that too. Imagine finding your dream home. Imagine having the purchasing power to afford it. Imagine spending a few glorious years living in it. And now, imagine having to sell it off because you don’t just see your dream home anymore, you see your neighbour in their shower, right from your living room! Ouch. Well that’s what happened with this woman, Pauline Boyd, in Blair Drummond, Perthshire, the UK!

Three years ago, Pauline Boyd and her partner found their dream home in Blair Drummond, Perthshire. It was a relatively recluse area, with enough neighbours but not too many to disrupt your peace. And they loved it. However, soon enough, the couple found out that a new property was under construction pretty close to their home. And when I say pretty close I mean right in your face so you could look up its nostrils… close.

Speaking to The Stirling Observer, Pauline described just how uncomfortably near the new property was to her home. Their living area and kitchen overlooked the new property’s garage. But that’s not even the worst part.

“There is also a shower room in the property and so we can see people through there while we’re eating our dinner, even though the windows are frosted,” she said.

Can you imagine how awkward that must be? You’ve got guests over and you’re all digging into a nice pot roast dinner when you look up from your plates and what do you see? Your neighbour in the shower! Pauline talked about how they constantly had to keep the blinds closed, which would be such an absolute shame. Clearly, when you think of dream homes, the blinds are usually open with sunlight beautifully filtering in, right? Not for Pauline, not anymore.

“When we first got here, it was quite rural and while we had neighbours, they weren’t really in your face. It’s got to the stage that it our stress levels are really bad and really impacted our lives—we’re having to keep our shutters closed but we don’t want to be doing that.”

With the appeal of her dream home ruined, Pauline Boyd and her partner decided they weren’t going to fight their too-close-for-comfort neighbour for it. They decided to put it on the market. Sadly, they had to do this mere days after they’d renovated some parts of it! I want to be an optimist and say, renovation karvaya hai toh jaldi bik jaayega. But unless that renovation solved the whole voyeur problem, that house might be tough to sell!

As much as I want to laugh at this hilarious misfortune, I do kinda feel bad for the couple. It must’ve been so frustrating to watch the new property being built, inching closer and closer to invading their privacy, and literally driving them away from their dream home. I guess even house should observe social distancing to avoid such miscalculations!
