Woman Officer Gets Transferred For Taking Action Against Mafia Despite Tremendous Local Support

Politics is a nasty game that is not for everyone. Only the bravest and smartest of them have the courage to join in. And while some of those who join work hard to make this country a better place; there are others who promote and support illegal activities and corruption. More often than not, those in support of illegal activities are such high-profile personas that they have bought out all those working under them. These are the people who cause a hindrance when someone tries to expose them or stop them. The most recent example being the MP woman forest officer, Shradha Pandre.

Recently, Shradha Pandre, the woman forest officer was transferred to Umaria from Morena. This transfer took three days after she took action against the illegal sand mining mafia in Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary.

It had been three months since Shradha Pandre took charge of the office and after her action against the illegal sand mining mafia, she was immediately ordered a transfer issue. The locals, activists, etc. have been strongly protesting against her transfer. The locals believe that injustice is happening with an honest, loyal officer. They have even shown their support by praising her for her efforts to eradicate the illegal sand mining operations taking place in that division.

Shradha Pandre had seized the illegally mined sand from the construction site of the new women’s police station and the government’s pond in Morena. The superintendent of police, Morena, Rai Singh Narwariya stated that “On the complaint of Pandre, an FIR has been registered against the sub-divisional officer and sub-engineer of Police Housing Board and two contractors for using illegal sand for the construction of the police station. In a matter of using illegally mined sand for construction of a wall of the pond, police are investigating.” He also revealed that no FIR has been filed.

It also appears that Shradha Pandre was attacked at least a minimum of 11 times by the mining mafia and registered a complaint at a different police station. She has successfully seized more than 80 tractor-trolleys and trucks filled with illegally mined sand that is easily worth a lot of money.

Sudhir Sapra, a local activist and environmentalist, came out in support of Shradha Pandre. Said that since her posting in Morena, there has been a real curb of the illegal sand mining in Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary.

Satendra Singh Tomar, another social activist who is actively running a campaign on social media to protest against Shradha Pandre’s transfer, said, “ The transfer of Pandre proved her accusation that mining mafias are getting the support of police and local administration in Chambal division. She has been punished for being an honest officer. We will stage a protest against this order.”

Shradha Pandre on her Facebook spoke about the transfer, saying that it is normal for her to get transferred after every time she ‘took a tough action against the mafia.’ She also revealed that she has gone through this before as well and was transferred for the same reason earlier.

It is sad to know that the government that is chosen by the people for the people is supporting illegal activities instead of curbing them. And the police, which are meant for the protection of the common public, are instead protecting these mafias. But I still have hope because there are honest, loyal officers like Shradha Pandre, who are fighting the system from within.
