Sushmita Sen’s Daughter Renee Sen Says That She Doesn’t Read Social Media Comments

When it comes to star kids, we only see what we want to see. The privilege, the luxurious life, the vacations to exotic islands and of course, the open doorway to Bollywood. And while it’s true that star kids, who choose to become actors, have it much easier than someone without connections, their life isn’t all that perfect even though it may seem that way. For instance, they have no privacy. Their entire lives are as open as their Instagram pages. Not to mention, because of who their parents are and the fact that they’ve grown up in the spotlight, they are more prone to criticism, cyberbullying and trolling. It sounds like a nerve-racking way to life. The star kid to talk about this most recently is Sushmita Sen’s daughter Renee Sen.

Most star kids have learned how to adapt. A lot of them have taken to their personal social media or said in interviews that trolling doesn’t bother them as much anymore because they simply ignore the outpour of negative comments. Calling herself the happiest girl in the world, Renee Sen said in an interview that she doesn’t read social media comments.

In the interview, Renee Sen said, “People will always have things to say. I don’t read social media comments a lot, to be honest. I don’t want to get sidetracked. I am the happiest girl on the planet and that’s how I want to be. I try to see the good as much as I can. The rest of it doesn’t matter.”

Her positive attitude is refreshing. It’s not fair that these star kids are trolled for every tiny thing. But that doesn’t seem to stop Renee who made her debut in Bollywood by starring in a short film, Suttabaazi. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar and was also screened on the Bandra Film Festival’s YouTube channel. Renee played the role of a rebellious teenager stuck at home with her conservative parents throughout the lockdown.

Talking about her experience filming her debut movie, Renee said, “I was finally able to look at myself on screen; it’s been a dream for so long! It has been a happy experience, so the only feeling is that I am so happy. Even if someone has constructive criticism or feedback, I am just taking it all in. Although I am just 21 years old, it has been the best experience of my life…I would like to work more. But for that, I have to work on myself a lot. But yes, I would like to be an actor full-time.”

We are glad that Renee Sen isn’t letting cyberbullying become a hurdle. She is following her dreams of becoming an actor, just like her gorgeous mother, Sushmita Sen. However, her positive attitude doesn’t make this horrendous trolling culture okay.
