Smriti Mandhana Named ICC Women’s Cricketer Of The Year. We Are So Proud Of Her!

And recently, cricketer Smriti Mandhana made our country proud as she is being named ICC Women’s Cricketer Of The Year 2021. Go for it, Mandhana!

India opening batter Smriti Mandhana is one of the best players in the Indian women’s cricket team and has proved it many times with her exceptional game and now she has bagged one more achievement in her career. On Monday Mandhana has been named as the winner of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of 2021. In 2018, the cricketer has won the same award when she was declared the women’s ODI Cricketer Of The Year.

After winning this prestigious award, the 25-year-old becomes the second player to win the highest individual distinction in the women’s overall category of the annual ICC awards more than once after Australian allrounder Ellyse Perry. Smriti Mandhana was also nominated for the Women’s T20I Player of the Year award, but England opener Tammy Beaumont won the award. 

Talking about the honour Mandhana told ICC that she’s truly honoured for receiving the prestigious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2021. She expressed her gratitude towards her teammates, coaches, her family, friends, and fans who believed in her and supported her journey till now.
