Pakistani Cricketer Yasir Shah Accused Of Sexually Harassing And Aiding Rape Of Minor Girl

The more days pass, the more I read about predators who prey on minors and get away with it. While this is unfortunate it can happen to anyone. I have noticed that it usually tends to be men in power who misuse their popularity to not only lure minors towards them but also sexually harass them and then get away with it. An example of this can be seen as cricketer Yasir Shah has been accused of raping and harassing minors along with his best friend, Farhan.

An FIR has been lodged in Shalimar Police Station in Islamabad against Yasir Shah for raping and harassing minor girls. He allegedly aided the rape and harassment of a 14-year-old girl. In the FIR, the girl details that the cricketer’s best friend raped and harassed her at gunpoint while filming the whole ordeal. Yasir Shah also threatened the girl, warning her that there would be consequences if she approached any authority about this. Absolutely disgusting!

As per reports, the victim stated that when she approached Yasir about this on WhatsApp he laughed it off saying that he liked minor girls. Yasir Shah also tried to subdue the girl by offering her a flat and offering to bear her expenses for the next 18 years when she was going to lodge the complaint. She said that Yasir Shah is an influential person who knows high-ranking officials. He and Farhan also rape minor girls and record their ordeal. Any news of the cricketer being arrested hasn’t been heard yet.

Yasir Shah has been an important part of the Pakistani team for a while now. Pakistan is supposed to go to Australia for three test matches in, coming year. Yasir has been summoned to a police enquiry and if found guilty, might be sentenced to jail. As he deserves to be!

I cannot imagine the mentality of sexually harassing someone in the first place. Even the thought of it disgusts me. But the fact that there are people who are okay with doing it to minors and somehow expect to get away with it just because of their influence is even more pathetic and gross. Good on the girl for complaining against him and I genuinely hope Yasir Shah and his friend do not get away with this heinous crime.
