Sixty-Year Old Man Rapes Minor Girl In Bihar’s Hajipur. Yet Another Case Of Child Sex Abuse.

Sometimes, I just hope that I wouldn’t have to hear about any rape case even if it’s only for a day but as always it goes unheard. Unfortunately, it only gets horrible and more shameful like this case which occurred in Uttar Pradesh. A 60-year-old man raped a three-year-old girl in Hajipur. This is so gruesome and shows that minors are the biggest victim of sexual assault. 

On December 16, a 60-year-old man raped his relative’s three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. On Saturday, the minor survivor’s mother lodged a complaint in the police station and the 60-year-old accused was arrested by the police on Sunday. The complainant is the niece of the elderly accused, who is a resident of Samastipur district. 

The accused had come to Hajipur for attending a wedding. According to the reports, he sexually assaulted the minor girl at the terrace of the house at around 11 am on December 16. The child sustained injuries in her private parts. She was initially administered treatment at a private hospital and later taken to the Sadar district hospital. Sadar SDPO Raghav Dayal shared that the family members tried to keep the matter under wraps by conveying their willingness to pay for the treatment of the survivor. Seriously? Are they for real? Some people can really be so shameless.

However, the mother of the victim reported the crime to the police two days later. 

According to the women’s police station SHO Pushpa Kumari, an inquiry has been initiated in the rape case.  As per reports, the girl’s mother had washed the victim’s blood-stained clothes, pillow and bedsheet out of ignorance. Therefore, proper evidence cannot be collected from the spot of the incident.

Just a few days ago, a 26-year-old man raped a six-year-old girl in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified as Shahbaz, committed the heinous crime when the minor was on her way to school. The accused lured her to a damaged building and then sexually assaulted her. Later, the victim returned home and told her parents about the incident. They registered the case and the accused was arrested immediately.

We hope both the accused get punished severely for committing such a heinous crime of rape against minor girls. According to a report, a sexual offence is committed against a child in India every 15 minutes. And what’s even more shocking is the fact that, in most cases, these minor girls are sexually abused and molested by someone they already know or someone, who is known to their families. This is so unfortunate.
