1. Fable, Juhu

People all over the internet have been raving about the sheer cuteness of this place. Many say it has a very ‘Alice In Wonderland’ theme. Located in Juhu, Fable is a great place to go to for a spot of breakfast. The decor is apt for those of you who cannot resist taking a quick selfie while you wait for your scrambled eggs to arrive.

2. Masala Bar, Bandra

After the smashing success of Farzi Cafe, Zoravar Kalra gives us Masala Bar. Located at Carter Road in Bandra, Masala Bar boasts of some extremely tasteful interiors. 3. Farzi Cafe, Lower Parel

Situated inside Kamala Mills, this elegant new place is Zorawar Kalra’s latest venture. The food here is a modern take on our authentic local cuisine. Their cocktails are simply to-die-for! What’s more, the famous a capella group Penn Masala performed live here, on May 21. Quite a hot spot to visit!

4. AnnCensored, Lower Parel

Just when we thought Kamala Mills in Lower Parel couldn’t play host to one more restaurant — it’s packed to bursting with some great options — AnnCensored has opened up in the very same compound. Sleek wooden tables and bright white lights welcome you as you step in. The nosh here is yet another modern twist to traditional Indian food, including options like Mushroom Tea, Tempura Onion Bhajia BAO and Pork & Melon Salad.

5. One Street Over, Bandra

Bandra makes room (surprisingly) for yet another new restaurant. Located off Linking Road, One Street Over is an extremely hip new place for discerning palates. Top chef Kelvin Cheung — formerly of Ellipsis — is the brains behind the menu and so it goes without saying that it’s pretty fantastic. For this one reason alone we keep going back for more.

6. Mockingbird Cafe Bar, Churchgate

Located in South Mumbai’s favourite spot (close to the sea), Mockingbird Cafe Bar is the coolest place ever. The walls are lined with lots of books and you can sip your drink and enjoy a burger or two while you read. We recommend visiting this place at night. It looks so much classier then.

7. Bastian, Bandra 

Chef Kelvin Cheung works his magic at yet another classy restaurant and is quickly becoming one of the best sea-food joints in the city. Bastian is the place to go to for a dish of crabs. There’s a lot of modern twists added to the meals, which makes it a must-visit for every seafood lover in town.

8. Bombay Vintage, Colaba

Bombay Vintage is a chic new place to visit. Fusion food is their forte and boy, do they serve it in style! The rice comes sitting snug inside a pressure cooker and they pour water into your glasses out of aluminium kettles, of all things. The interiors are beautifully done up as well, including old photographs that are beautiful to look at.

Another win for BKC, Dishkiyaaon has some really cool interiors. From quirky telephone booths to bathtubs to swing-sets, this place has it all. You’re guaranteed to have a blast here. The food is rich and yummy and the cocktails are rumoured to be even better.

10. Tuning Fork, Khar

Located in Hotel Unicontinental, Tuning Fork is a kitschy little place. Much like Hoppipola, it gives you the choice of playing your favourite games while you wait to get served. It also has a performance area for artists to read or recite works of their choice. There are even karaoke nights and stand-up comedy acts. All in all, these folks just want you to forget about your worries and have a great time.

11. Lima, BKC

BKC has another addition to its already burgeoning knapsack. Lima offers you some delicious food made by 2 Michelin star Chef Atul Kocchar, including lip-smacking tapas. The restaurant itself is done up in pleasing shades of blue, green, and white and is very easy on the eyes. Don’t miss out!
