Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Niece Said That She Was Sexually Abused By Family And That Nawazuddin Didn’t Believe Her. This Is How Sex Offenders Get Away

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. And while we haven’t heard his side of the story and we don’t know what went down in their relationship, his estranged wife accused him of stripping her off her self-respect. In fact, she has returned to her maiden name Anjana Kishore Panday from being Aaliya Siddiqui post marriage. Siddiqui’s family was accused of brimming with toxic masculinity with Anjana even saying that Nawazuddin’s brother hit her.

And now, it’s Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s niece who has filed a sexual harassment case against her uncle and his brother at the Jamia police station in Delhi, as reported by Times of India.  Speaking to ETimes she revealed the details, “I have filed a complaint about sexual harassment by my uncle when I was nine years old. My parents were divorced when I was two years old, so I had a step mother. I was tortured a lot.”

She said back then she didn’t understand what was happening. Also, since it was her uncle, she trusted him. “As a child, I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realized it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too,” she explained.

In fact, she alleged that when she told Nawazuddin about this, he didn’t support her against his brother who she accused of sexual misconduct. “Nawaz bade papa once asked me what I want to do in life, I told him all that was happening with me and that I felt mentally disturbed. But he said there is nothing like that. I thought that at least bade papa (Nawazuddin) would understand, he lives in a different society and would have a different mentality. But he was like ‘chacha hai, aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte’(it’s your uncle, he can never do something like that),” she said.

What’s worse is that she claims that she and her in-laws are being harassed. “Even after my marriage, my father and Nawaz bade papa was also involved, filed false cases to harass my in-laws. If they would have been strict then this would not have happened. They never believed me,” she revealed.

It is one of the major reasons so many young girls never speak up about the abuse they face at home. People don’t tend to believe them because often, it’s someone in the family who sexually assaulted them. And even if they do, several families keep it hidden to avoid embarrassment and expect the girl to pretend as if nothing has happened. Imagine having to meet your perpetrator in family gatherings and be respectful to them even. In the worst-case scenario, the orthodox family accuses the victim and puts more restrictions on her.

Meanwhile, his estranged wife Anjana took to twitter to share the news. “This is just the beginning. Thanking God for sending so much support already. Lot will be revealed, shocking the world as I am not the only one who suffered in silence. Let’s see how much of TRUTH money can buy & who all would they continue to BRIBE,” she wrote.

Anjana had recently told ABP in an interview that “neither Nawazuddin nor his brothers know how to respect women.” In an interview, she had also pointed out how there were already seven cases registered against the men of the house. “It’s a pattern. There are already seven cases registered by the wives of their house against them, and four divorces have taken place. This is the fifth one. It’s a pattern in his family. You conceal a lot to avoid embarrassment before others, but how much can you take in love,” she said.
