Man Raped Woman After Finding Out Her Address By Pretending To Be A Job Recruiter. This Is Scary

There is good in this world, of course. We have people who fight not just for their own rights but also those of others. We have our mothers who make sacrifices – big or small – for our happiness. There is kindness, love and selflessness. But beyond the comfort we find in our loved ones, there is a darker world inhabited by people with no soul or conscience whatsoever. They are so twisted in their heads with not a shred of empathy, they thrive on sadistic pleasures. Recently, a man in Kerala posted a fake job opening and raped a female applicant after finding out her address.

Identified as Renjith Chandran, the accused had presented him as a Harilal, an advocate who was starting an enterprise with his brother-in-law. He said he was launching a company called Ambuja Homes and Constructions.

Most employers would ask for the applicant’s address and contact details. It may seem like standard procedure but in the wrong hands it can be quite dangerous. Renjith, after gathering her contact details, kept a track of her activities. One day, when her husband was not at home, he went in and raped her.

The woman reported that he took pictures of her and used them to blackmail her into satiating his sexual demands over video calls. He threatened to put them up on social media if she refused.

After she filed a complaint, the police arrested Renjith within two days and confiscated his mobile phone. Of course, nothing added up and turns out he had lied about his name and profession. Three more people came forward to claim that this man had demanded money as job registration fee from them. He is kept in judicial custody for now.

Honestly, as a woman I don’t think I can ever feel completely safe anywhere. When I am alone at home, I fasten every lock in my main door. I don’t travel alone at night and even when it’s late, I have to share my location with someone. I don’t feel safe going to a date’s house or even being in the general compartment of a crowded train, of course during pre-covid times.

Each day, we have more reasons to not trust men. Women are being raped by their intimate partners, duped by men they meet on matrimonial sites and now, raped and blackmailed by fake recruiters. And then men have the audacity to go around acting all offended when a woman looks at everyone through the lens of suspicion.
