Everything You Need To Know About Anti-Harassment Campaign, ‘Time’s Up’
2018 has had the most wonderful and powerful start so far. And as a woman, I’m proud to be a part of it. After the Harvey Weinstein scandal unfolded in October 2017, #MeToo went viral. Women around the world came forward to share their painful stories of harassment and assault, on different social media platforms. Now, they aren’t just revealing their stories, they are ready to put an end to harassment, saying ‘Time’s’ Up!’.
‘TIME’S UP is a unified call for change from women in entertainment, for women everywhere. From movie sets to farm fields to boardrooms alike, we envision nationwide leadership that reflects the world in which we live,’ says the website.
The website’s Instagram page is full of powerful text that is sure to inspire you to stand in solidarity with all the women out there. Have a look:
PS. In a bid to close the gender gap, Iceland legalized equal pay. We hope the rest of the world follows suit.
Celebrities like Eva Longoria and America Ferrera helped launch TIME’S UP, and it has been going strong since. Emma Watson, Justin Timberlake, and Meryl Streep are some of the celebrities who donated a huge amount to the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. Way to go!
All the female stars will unite on the red carpet of this year’s Golden Globe Awards and wear black in protest of industry harassment. Men will also be joining in to support the cause.
