Karisma Kapoor Shares Some Really Good Advice On How To Deal With This Lockdown. We’re Taking Notes

I remember in school while we were studying the evolution of man, we were taught that humans were social animals. Like monkey’s or wolves, we travel in packs and we don’t do too well in captivity. Who thought 10 years later we would be subjects in an experiment to prove that same theory? Oh, come on, doesn’t this lockdown feel like we are? The only difference is that if it were an experiment, we would get paid.

Okay jokes apart, being stuck in the house all day is no child’s play. I mean, there is a limit to how much shit I can watch of Netflix. Believe it or not, I can’t watch any more movies or shows I am exhausted from being a couch potato. So, I have become a potato who strolls around the house all day long (I think it’s starting to freak my parents out). But hey, science says we don’t do too well in captivity, don’t judge me, judge science. This lockdown is like a test none of studied for and though most of us are passing with flying colours, the stress is eating us inside. I think I take comfort in the fact that this is a once in a lifetime experience.

During these tough times, we could all use a little motivation and a positivity every day. Today, that comes to us in the form of Karisma Kapoor’s words of wisdom. She said that we should not feel trapped because we are doing a good deed by following the government’s orders and staying indoors.

She said, “It is indeed a difficult time for everyone around the globe. People are anxious, I get it. I am trying to look at the positive side. Before the lockdown started, I was busy with the promotions of my web series for the last two months. So, this has been a nice downtime for me at home with my family. Staying indoors for a prolonged period can be tough but we have to follow the guidelines. People may feel bored or feel trapped at home, but you are doing a good deed by staying at home. So, don’t feel bad.”

Karisma has a point. Doctors, nurses and policemen are fighting this war but by staying inside we are helping this deadly virus from spreading. It may feel stuck in a loop, but we are doing a good deed.

If you take a look at her Instagram, then you will see that she too is self-quarantined just like the rest of us. She has been spending her time baking, reading and chilling with her kids. Though she has one main advice on how to survive this lockdown- cut down on the time you spend online. Now, the first thought that crossed my mind was if we do that, what are we supposed to do all day? But hear her out.

She says, “I really feel that we should not over read and overthink. It is very difficult to do that at such a time, but we need to find a right balance. I do not go on the internet and I do not read up excessively. There are days I don’t check what’s going on at all. It is important to be cut off for a while but also be aware. Be updated but don’t overuse social media.”

She does give some great advice, doesn’t she?

I know life might a little gloomy right now, but we have come so far. Just think about how much of a difference we are making by just sitting at home and that might make you feel better.
