Gayathri Raghuram Quits TN BJP, Calls Annamalai “Cheap Tactic Liar”

She called TN BJP unsafe for women!

A few weeks ago Tamil Nadu BJP leader Gayathri Raghuram was placed under suspension for 6 months for “violating party discipline” and acting against BJP’s interest in order to spoil the party’s image. This happened just after the BJP leader spoke up about the telephonic conversation between BJP leaders Surya Siva and Daisy Saran where the former used filthy language and threatened the latter. She sought strict action against Surya Siva. And now, Gayathri Raghuram has quit BJP and slammed the party for being disrespectful towards women and making them feel unsafe.

In a scathing Twitter thread, BJP leader Gayathri Raghuram announced that she is resigning from her post in Tamil Nadu BJP for failing to give women equal rights, opportunity as well as respect. Sharing that she would rather be trolled as an outsider, the BJP leader called out the party head K Annamalai and said that under his leadership women are unsafe.

I have taken the decision with heavy heart to resign from TNBJP for not giving opportunity for an enquiry, equal rights & respect for women. Under Annamalai leadership women are not safe. I feel better to be trolled as an outsider.

BJP’s Gayathri Raghuram pointed out that no one cares about the party workers and the real party workers are being chased away by Annamalai. She went on to thank PM Modi and Amit Shah for being her mentors. Speaking further about her decision, Gayathri Raghuram said that she has taken a “hasty decision” and it’s only because of Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai that she has done it. She also took a jibe at him and called him a “cheap tactic liar”. At the same time, she took a moment to thank all the BJP party workers who she worked with and shared a bond with while calling her 8 years long journey with BJP a “great journey”.

Today I took this hasty decision & credit goes to Annamalai. Further I want to care less about Annamalai. He is Cheap tactic liar and adharmic leader.

Thanking all the karyakartas whom I worked with for 8 years whom I shared great love & respect with. It was a great journey.

Signing off, the BJP leader said that she cannot continue working under Annamalai’s leadership and she can’t expect social justice. Gayathri Raghuram also urged women to be their own heroes instead of waiting for someone to come and save them. She further added that one should never stay in a place where they aren’t respected. Concluding her Twitter thread, the political party leader said that she is willing to file a police complaint and submit audio and video evidence to aid the investigation against Annamalai while calling him a “sick person”.

FYI, this isn’t the first time that Gayathri Raghuram has called out the BJP leadership. The BJP leader has previously had a confrontation with the former Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan after which she was removed from the party and her posting in 2018. She was re-inducted to the party 2 years ago.
