DCW Chief Swati Maliwal Slams BJP Ministers Claiming Molestation Video Was ‘Fake Sting’

It is not a secret anymore how unsafe Delhi is for women. We often hear news of brutal rapes and horrifying crimes happening against women in the national capital which also happens to be the crime capital of the country. Recently, the Delhi Commission for Women Chief, Swati Maliwal, was molested by a drunk driver in the city, and the video of the same has gone viral on social media. And it is surprising but not shocking how the central government is calling the video fake and saying that it was Swati Maliwal herself who organised this ‘sting’ video.

In the viral video, a man driving a white car comes up to Swati and asks if she needs a lift and she turns him down. The man returns again to ask if she wants to be dropped off anywhere and when says no to him for a second time, he rolls up the window of his car, trapping Maliwal’s hand and begins to drive away.

A lot of people are raising questions on the authenticity of the video and saying that Swati Maliwal staged this ‘sting video’. Many people online are also sympathising with the man who they think is wrongly accused in this fake video. BJP leader Shazia Ilmi took to Twitter to write that the DCW Chief had this fake video made to make the Delhi government and the Delhi police look bad.

Reportedly, Barkha Shukla Singh, who is the Former DCW chief, also said that Swati’s ‘drama’ should not make women weak. BJP’s Lok Sabha leader, Manoj Tiwari, also took to Twitter to clarify that the man who was caught by the Delhi police is not the real perpetrator but instead is an Aam Aadmi Party member.

Swati Maliwal has hit back at all those trolling her for faking the video. She tweeted that she is not going to get scared of those who are spreading lies about her. She also wrote that she has been attacked many times before and is going to stop fighting.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police have confirmed that the man who dragged Swati by his car was drunk and had also harassed many women before.
