Delhi, the crime capital of India, is always talked about how unsafe it is for women. News of horrifying crimes against women taking place in the national capital always send chills down my spine. It is hard to imagine how difficult it would be for women to venture out after sunset. Recently, the Delhi Commission for Women chief, Swati Maliwal shared the incident of how she was molested on January 18, 2023. A video has surfaced on the internet from the incident that shows a conversation that took place between Swati and the driver who molested her. But people on Twitter think it is a “prank” video and Swati Maliwal has called them out for victim-blaming her.

Swati Maliwal slams victim-shaming trolls
A Twitter user who goes by the handle @Aatmik_spn has shared a video of the incident. In the video, Swati can be heard talking to the car driver who asked her if she wanted to be dropped off somewhere. She turns him down by saying that she is waiting for her relatives and the man drives away. But he, very audaciously, returns to ask her if she wants a lift.
In a strict voice, Swati Maliwali tells him that she does not want a lift after which the man rolls up his car’s window trapping her hand in it and starts driving away while Swati shouts in pain. The Twitter user has raised questions about the authenticity of this video.
Chairman of Delhi commission for Women,Swati Maliwal ji is claiming that she has been harassed on Delhi's street.
If true,the accused should be arrested immediately.

Swati Maliwal took to her Twitter to slam all those claiming that the incident that took place was fake. She wrote that the trolls have begun victim-shaming as always. She also wrote that a drunk molested her and dragged her into a moving car while people still believe he is a nice person. In the video that DCW Chief shared, the police confirmed that the accused was indeed drunk and had misbehaved with her.
