Woman Files Fake Gang Rape Complaint With Nagpur Police To Marry Boyfriend. This Is Unacceptable!

Every now and then we hear cases of gang rape taking place and it really disgusts me. And if I feel so dirty and disgusted by it, I can’t imagine what the victims of gang rape might be feeling. Because they are the ones that have lived through it and have to live through it all over again when they file cases, when the investigation takes place, and when the court takes years to come to a verdict. Living through it, again and again, is taxing, heartbreaking, and honestly even torturous. In fact, it even gets worse for them when they have to prove that the incident actually took place and that the trauma was real. So, just imagine how they would feel when a woman would go and file a fake gang-rape case just to marry her boyfriend. Yep, this actually happened.

A 19-year-old woman filed a fake gang-rape complaint with the Nagpur police at 11 am on Monday, so as to marry her boyfriend. The woman cooked up a fake story where she was raped by two men at an isolated place near Chikhali area.

In her fake complaint, the woman claimed that when she was on her way to attend a music class in the morning, two people came in a white van and asked her for directions. The official then said that it was then that the men forcibly pulled her into the van, put a cloth over her face, and then took her to the isolated place and raped her.

Taking her gang rape complaint seriously, the Nagpur police started their investigation immediately. In fact, the Kalamna police also registered a case against the two unidentified people that allegedly gang-raped her.

Even the Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Additional CP Sunil Phulari, and many other senior officials got involved in the case and went to the Sitabuldi police station to investigate the case. Amitesh Kumar also ordered to form 40 special teams that comprised more than 1000 law enforcers.

The teams investigating the gang-rape case went through more than 250 CCTVs across the city of Nagpur, they looked for vans that matched the description, and even questioned the woman’s friends. They did all of this while the woman was sent to Mayo Hospital for a medical examination.

As per reports, while investigating the gang-rape case, the police came across a CCTV footage that showed the woman getting off at a bust stop at Variety square area, Nagpur at 9:50 am, after which she walked to the Jhansi square at 10 am, and from there she got on to auto at 10:15 am at Anand Talkies and got down at the Mayo Hospital at 10:25 am. Further investigation showed that the woman then boarded a shared auto again and got down at Chikhali square at 10:54 am. The CCTV camera at a petrol pump showed her walking towards the Kalamna police station at 11:04 am.

After following her trail and interrogating over 50 people, the officials reached a conclusion that the woman had faked a gang-rape story. Once they had all the facts they needed, they questioned the woman whether she cooked up the story or not. It was then that the woman confessed to lying and said that she did all of this to marry her boyfriend.

Hearing the story fills me up with so much anger. I mean, it already is so difficult for actual victims of gang rape to file a complaint and this fake case just added on to the hardships. I mean, let’s face it, a victim of rape or gang rape has to go through so many hardships to just file a complaint and in midst of that there is this insensitive woman who just filed a fake complaint in a bid to marry her boyfriend. Seriously? This is not done.
