This Model Moved Into A Care Home To Help Its Residents During The Pandemic. This Is Beautiful

We’ve seen time and again how tough times can bring out the humanity in us. Amidst all the fear, panic, and distress caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, several real heroes have emerged. Doctors and nurses have been working tirelessly to help treat patients and contain the virus. Our police force put their own health and safety in danger every single day to make sure the lockdown restrictions are followed. Celebrities have also been donating and using their influence to spread awareness about the pandemic.

But model Harriet Rose John has gone a step further to do her bit and help out. In an Instagram post shared on May 6th, the London-based model revealed that she had moved into a care home one month ago during the lockdown period to help ensure the safety of its residents. She has taken up this initiative along with sixteen other individuals. The experience was tough, but Harriet is pleased to say that they have not lost a single resident or member of staff during this time. The care home does not have a single case of the coronavirus either! This is a massive and impressive achievement.

“The quite literal blood sweat and tears… not giving up, were all worth it,” she says in the caption of her post. She further sends her love to all the other care homes and care workers, and urges us all to stay at home, stay safe, and wash our hands. “Together we will get through this! Stay smiling and stay positive.”

Seeing stories of people going out of their way to ensure the safety of those around them truly is inspires us all to do our bit. It is also a refreshing change from hearing about people constantly breaking the rules of the lockdown and not understanding the gravity of the situation. Good news like this is exactly what we need right now to keep our hopes up and our hearts humble. If we want to respect the services of essential workers and volunteers who have put their own lives at risk, we must stay at home, stay safe, and follow the rules!
