Taapsee Pannu Says That She Is Glad She Didn’t Leave Twitter Despite It Being Very Negative

Posting your day-to-day activities on social media become sort of a norm. And while it’s seemingly harmless, social media has given rise to numerous potentially dangerous concepts. Namely, trolling and cyberbullying. However, we’ve focused on the negative side of social media for too long. It might be the bane of our existence but it has a lot of good to offer. Connecting people and serving as a platform to help others, for instance. And we need that considering these terrible times we are living in. And actress Taapsee Pannu is saying just that!

Unless you’ve live under a rock, you know that the coronavirus pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, it’s much worse now than it was in 2020. We might have a vaccine but there is a severe shortage of everything we need to fight the virus. From hospital beds to oxygen cylinders to medicines. During these pressing times, we have to be there for each other and social media, at the moment, is helping us do just that. It’s truly amazing to watch people keep politics, religion and everything else that divides us aside and come together.

Recently, Taapsee Pannu took to Twitter to appreciate the way netizens are extending their support towards one another. She said her timeline is filled with people trying to help each other out. Taapsee said that she doesn’t regret leaving Twitter despite it being, “one of the most toxic platforms of social media”.

Taapsee took to Twitter to say, “There was something in me that made me stay here in spite of being one of the most toxic platforms of social media. Seeing the timeline filled with support being asked and selfless/agenda free help being offered makes me believe in the power of intuition once again. Beautiful.”

Amid a grave shortage of vital medical facilities, netizens are sharing contacts of NGOs and hospitals in their area. Many of them are also distributing food amongst the needy and helping each other secure hospital beds. Twitter has really come together to fight against this horrific second wave of the pandemic.

Just like Taapsee, we are very grateful to the Twitterati too. Social media has become an increasingly negative space but in times like these, people are always happy to help. And at the end of the day, that’s what really matters.
