In A Rare Medical Condition, Foetus Found Growing Inside A 40-Day-Old Baby In Bihar
In a very bizarre case from Bihari’s Motihari, a foetus was found in the stomach of a 40-day-old baby. However weird this case might sound, it is a rare medical condition. The condition is only found in one out of five lakh patients. The recent case came to light when the infant was brought to Rahmania Medical Center in Motihari for treatment. The news of a foetus growing inside a baby’s stomach also came from Israel last year.
The 40-day-old was brought to the hospital with a bloated stomach. The baby was unable to urinate because of the bloated stomach. During the treatment of the problem, Dr. Taberz Aziz examined the child thoroughly and prescribed a computed tomography scan. However, the results turned out to be unexpected, the baby had a foetus growing inside the stomach.

Dr. Tabrez Aziz, in an interview with ANI, shed some light on the rare phenomenon. According to the doctor, the condition is called “Foetus in Fetu”, which means that the foetus develops inside an infant’s stomach. The doctor further added that such a condition occurs only in one out of five lakh patients. Dr.Tabrez also informed that the child underwent surgery and is in stable condition now. The infant has been discharged from the hospital, the doctor mentioned to ANI.

A similar incident of twin births also happened in Israel. The infant’s twin had developed inside her stomach. The incident happened in the Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod. Even in this case the girl was treated with surgery and was expected to recover soon. The incident happened in July, last year.
