Woman Delivers Baby In Train With Help From A Female Sub-Inspector And Meri Saheli Team. This Is So Wholesome

When it comes to a woman in labour, any person who doesn’t want to help her is just pure evil. It is an enigmatic experience – a mix of high stress, anxiety as well as the joy of bringing a new life into this world. There is nothing more important than helping out a woman delivering a baby. And time and again, humans have exhibited their good side by helping a woman deliver, in the most bizarre circumstances.

Recently, a woman delivered a baby inside a train compartment at Bhubaneshwar station, with help from woman RPF staff and Meri Saheli team. Ayesha Khatun, was travelling to Bangalore on the Howrah Yeshvantpur Express when she suddenly started experiencing labour pain. Her husband and mother-in-law were also there.

The station superintendent of Bhubaneshwar was alerted and RPF woman sub-inspector Sachala Pradhan and a Meri Saheli team rushed there to help Khatun deliver her baby. The train reached the station at 4:45 pm. Sachala Pradhan and the Meri Saheli team were already there and immediately headed to the compartment, isolated the woman and started the procedure.

Exactly 10 minutes later, the baby’s cry filled the compartment as the woman delivered the baby. The railway doctor and staff helped the woman and her baby. Her condition was monitored and they were shifted to the Capital Hospital. Both the mother and the baby are doing fine.

Recently, a 9-year-old girl helped her mom (a nurse) deliver the baby when she went into labour unexpectedly. The mother started having contractions a week before the due date. The husband was stuck in traffic and something had to be done immediately. That’s when the 9-year-old girl stepped in and did as her mom instructed. She could be a doctor or nurse in the making!

I love such stories. It brings me immense joy to see people overcoming their prejudices, fears, and selfishness to tend to a woman and help her deliver.
