Rani Mukerji Says Everyone Doesn’t Always Have To Agree With Your Opinion And We Think She’s Nailed It

Rani Mukerji Says Everyone Doesn’t Always Have To Agree With Your Opinion And We Think She’s Nailed It

Just the other day, my father and I were conversing about a certain sensitive topic that escalated into a nasty debate very fast. While I felt his opinions were generally regressive, he felt mine were too idealistic. That happens a lot, right? It is practically impossible for you to share the opinion about every debate-worthy topic without being subjected to some rousing arguments. That’s how opinions work, everyone has them and they can differ. Also yes, they can be changed. What is important to voice yours out and just listen to what the other person has to say without always trying to push your point forward. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that it is not always necessary that every single person out there is going to agree with them and that there is nothing wrong with that.

The whole reason we are discussing this today is that in a recent interview Rani Mukerji was asked about voicing her opinions and concerns. She said “Given my profession, fortunately, or unfortunately, I’m made to give an opinion on different topics. There are certain times and things I feel strongly about and react to. But I understand when someone doesn’t like or accept it, they aren’t entitled to. That’s his or her right. Similarly, if somebody gives me an opinion then I too have the right to be okay or not.”

She makes a very valid point. Even though celebrities are practically forced to give an opinion (and we are so glad they comply with that), it isn’t always essential that everyone agrees with that they have to say and that is perfectly okay. There is no compulsion that everyone must nod along with what the celebrity is saying or vice versa. Though, I don’t remember the last time Rani voiced out her views, what she is saying here makes a whole lot of sense.

In the same interview, Rani has also spoken being misunderstood for her opinions. She said, “As long as I’m making sense to some people it’s good enough. You don’t have to become Miss congeniality and make everyone happy. You’ve to understand that sometimes there is a certain belief that I live by. I’m open to criticism and advice that I should accept, follow. I believe in my position when people ask me questions, I’ve to answer them. They ask for advice too… And I give my point of view more than often.”

There are a lot of people that need to really understand what she is saying. It isn’t about making people happy or getting everyone to agree with you. It is simply about keeping the conversation going so that it can lead to an actual change. Celebrities are put on a pedestal, which is why people respect their opinions, even if it does not coincide with the public view.

Rani has made some very vital points in this interview and I really hope the people continue to troll celebrities for giving what they consider ‘wrong opinions,’ read and really grasp what she is saying.

On the word front, Rani was last seen playing a fierce cop role in the movie Mardaani 2. She will be seen next in a cameo role in Bunty Aur Babli 2.
