No, Don’t Believe Whatsapp Forwards. The Covid-19 Vaccine Does Not Cause Infertility In Women?

I can’t even emphasize enough the importance of taking the Covid-19 vaccination. It is the need of the hour and our best chance to beat Covid-19. Especially crucial for pregnant women. They are at a higher risk of catching covid and so for them to get vaccinated is truly a priority. Even the government, with the recommendations from the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), has made Covid-19 vaccinations available for pregnant women. And the icing on the cake is the fact that a pregnant woman can take the vaccination at any point during her pregnancy.

But recently, a lot of myths have been circulating regarding the effects of Covid-19 vaccination on pregnant women. But also doing the rounds that that the Covid-19  vaccine leads to infertility. But that is definitely not the case.

So far, there has been absolutely no evidence that links Covid-19 vaccination to infertility. No research has shown that the taking of Covid-19 vaccination can in some way or another lead to infertility. The experts in the field state that this was a social media myth that has caused quite a ruckus and conflict in patients with regards to the Covid-19 vaccines.

Speaking in favor of the Covid-19 vaccines, there are doctors who say that there is no medical or scientific reason for the vaccine to interact/merge with a woman’s reproductive organs. They even state that there is no evidence or reason for the Covid-19 vaccination to have any sort of impact on the egg – whether it is fertilized or released. In fact, gynaecologists also say that those who are trying to conceive through IVF are also not affected by the Covid-19 vaccination.

On the contrary, the doctors are urging and requesting all the pregnant women to come ahead and take a jab of the Covid-19 vaccination. The Covid-19 vaccine contains no live viruses that can cause covid in either the mother or the unborn child.

I know that we all want to be 100% sure before we take the jab. But let’s ensure that any news that we’re sharing that is pertaining to Covid-19 vaccinations is cross-checked and verified. Spreading wrong information can lead to a lot more damage. We all are in this together so let’s get jabbed with the Covid-19 vaccination and put an end to the deadly pandemic.
