Malala Yousafzai Expresses Concern As Taliban Controls Afghanistan

Malala Yousafzai has been fighting for women’s rights and human rights forever now. And it was only a matter of time till she spoke about the increasing Taliban offenses in Afghanistan. The youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai has faced the Taliban offenses first hand – when she was shot in the head by Taliban militants in 2012. Since the Taliban is extending its power to Kabul, war-torn Afghanistan is in grave danger – especially the women and minorities. In fact, in her latest tweet, Malala Yousafzai tweeted about her worry regarding the same.

Recently, Malala Yousafzai took to Twitter to tweet about her growing concerns regarding the women, minorities, and human rights activists in Afghanistan. Since their rule on Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban militants are yet again coming to power as the foreign forces are retreating their troops from Afghanistan.

The tweet of Malala Yousafzai was a worried cry to the Taliban taking over Kabul on Sunday. The Taliban had closed in on Kabul before they entered the city and took over the presidential palace. This move caused President Ashraf Ghani to join his fellow citizens and run away from the city. Taking over Kabul took place right after they caused the overnight collapse of the two cities – Jalalabad and Mazar-e-Sharif.

Malala Yousafzai is not the only human rights activist that has expressed her concern over the rule of the Taliban in Afghanistan. There are many who have spoken about how foreign troops need to step in to save the Afghan women, the minorities, human activists, and the citizens of Afghanistan from the Taliban offenses. If we do not put an end to the Taliban rule now, the chances of saving the Afghan people will soon be over.
