Meet Mahasweta Chakraborty, 24-Year-Old Pilot Who Evacuated 800 Indian Students From War-Torn Ukraine

But we decided to create borders, made nuclear weapons, and things that are pretty useless and make this world a literal hell. Currently, we are witnessing the war between Russia and Ukraine that is unfortunately not going to end any time soon. Many Indian students who are stuck in the war-torn country are constantly requesting the government to rescue them, there are many people who are working day and night for their evacuation. And recently, we heard about a 24-year-old woman pilot named Mahasweta Chakraborty who evacuated nearly 800 Indian students from Ukraine. She’s the epitome of courage!
Mahasweta Chakraborty – a 24-year-old IndiGo pilot from Kolkata evacuated over 800 stranded Indian students from war-torn Ukraine under ‘Operation Ganga’ – an evacuation operation by the Indian Government. According to the reports, the 24-year-old flew six evacuation flights between February 27 and March 7 this year, four flights were from Poland and two from Hungary. On Sunday, the official Twitter account of BJP Mahila Morcha shared a tweet about the courageous pilot. The tweet read, “Mahasweta Chakraborty a 24-year-old pilot from Kolkata, rescued more than 800 Indian students from the border of Ukraine, Poland and Hungary. Huge Respect for her (sic).”

Priyanka Sharma – the Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also shared a tweet praising Mahasweta. In her tweet, she mentioned that the pilot is the daughter of Tanuja Chakraborty who is the President of Bengal’s BJP Mahila Morcha. “She is Mahasweta Chakraborty, Daughter of Tanuja Chakraborty (President of WB State BJP Mahila Morcha) (sic). Mahasweta, a 24yr old pilot from Kolkata, rescued more than 800 Indian students from the border of Ukraine, Poland & Hungary. Huge Respect for her. (emoji),” she wrote in the tweet.
