Smriti Mandhana, Rohit Sharma Heap Praises On Jhulan Goswami, Tweeple Want Her To Play The Upcoming World Cup
One of the most surprising things about our cricket loving nation is the fact that most people do not engage in women’s Indian cricket. Because of this, unlike male cricketers, there are many female players who do not receive the appreciation and recognition they deserve. However, Jhulan Goswami has been able to break through this prejudice and make a mark on Indian cricket and fans. With her ODI series in Lord’s, England being her swan song, many people have come on Twitter to shower her with love.
She is the top female wicket-taker in ODIs, therefore it is appropriate that her international career would conclude with one. The recent 2-1 T20I series victory over India was made possible in large part by England star Sophia Dunkley, who recently spoke to NDTV about Jhulan Goswami, her legacy, and how the hosts wish to bid her farewell.
Jhulan Goswami is ending his 20-year brilliant career in international cricket. At the completion of the current three-match ODI series, the 39-year-old Goswami said goodbye to the sport. She took 44 wickets in 12 Tests, 253 in 202 ODIs, and 68 in 68 T20 Internationals (56 wickets). As one can imagine, Tweeple were touched by Goswami’s performance and have spoken about how they do not want her to retire. Fellow cricketers, Smriti Mandhana and Rohit Sharma have also honoured her time in the game.
Rohit Sharma said "Jhulan Goswami is a legend, she has shown lots of passion for the country, it's an inspiration and learning for all the youngsters in the country – her inswingers has challenged me as well at NCA".

A reminder that Jhulan Goswami did not drop from the sky. She worked bloody hard to become what she did. She was also nurtured and allowed to develop by supportive captains/ mentors along the way.
The seamers who come after deserve the same time and support.— Ananya Upendran (@a_upendran11) September 18, 2022
Jhulan Goswami's bowling performance in the first ODI match against England women: 10-2-20-1 and she didn't concede a single boundary in her spell – The GOAT.

Jhulan Goswami has to be celebrated for she is one of the greatest sporting icons to have come from this country. If she is indeed retiring, wouldn't it be nice to celebrate her in a proper manner throughout the series? She deserves that much at the very least. #ENGvIND

She is 39 years old and come back in squads after 6 months while this is the last tournament of her career and despite that bowling figure is 10-2-20-1 & more important 39 dot balls.
