International Booker Prize is by far one of the most prestigious literary awards out there. It truly is an honour to be recognised and win this prestigious award. This award is given to the books that have not only touched people’s hearts but also are exceptional literary pieces that deserve way more attention and appreciation. And so, I’ve made a list of all the books that have won the prestigious International Booker Prize by female authors that you must read. These are books that will give you a fresh insight into things that we otherwise might not think about.

Here’s a list of books by female authors that won the International Booker Prize:

1. Tomb of Sand by Geetanjali Shree

2. Celestial Bodies by Jokha Alharti

Celestial Bodies is a story about three sisters, the whole of Oman – its political and cultural drifts, and several other characters that are closely knitted to the sisters. The book is written in a different style than most books where each of the chapters is told from the perspectives of each of the characters. On a whole, the novel on a whole tells a tale about love – all various kinds of it.

3. Flights by Olga Tokarczuk

Flights is a “philosophical rumination on modern-day travel”. The novel is a series of vignettes – some of them are fictional while others are based on facts. The book is on ‘travel’ both – physically and spiritually. It is one of those books that will engage you so much that you’d want to know about the storylines as well as the travel journeys.
