Harmanpreet Kaur Surpasses MS Dhoni And Virat Kohli To Have The Most Wins In International T20Is
Harmanpreet Kaur in recent times is grabbing headlines left, right, and centre with her performance. And ever so often she has created history with her wins and runs. And this time is no different. Team India opened their account in the Commonwealth Games 2022 after they thrashed the Pakistan women’s cricket team by eight wickets in Birmingham on Sunday, July 31. This win has increased their chances of making it to the semi-finals of the T20 tournament. However, this big win is even bigger for the Indian women’s cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur. Why? Well, because she scripted a spectacular India captaincy record in T20I cricket, surpassing both – MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
Let’s agree that the Indian women’s c did not have the best start in the Commonwealth Games 2022 as they suffered a loss against Australia in their opening match. But that definitely did not stop them as they brought their ‘killing attitude’ to the other games and made a comeback in style. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur beat Pakistan and increased their chances of making it to the semi-finals.

This win against Pakistan helped Harmanpreet Kaur to tally her victories to 42 which means that she has surpassed the legendary captain MS Dhoni who has a total of 41 wins in T20I. In fact, she has come to this total after 71 matches while MS Dhoni reached his total after 72 matches. Her tally stands third among captains in women’s T20Is – the first being Charlotte Edwards at 68 and Meg Lanning at 64.

As per reports, when asked about her and team India’s win at the Commonwealth Games 2022, Harmanpreet Kaur said, “It feels good to win, 1st wins are important. There were a lot of positives today & we would try to continue this ahead. It’s important to perform as a unit, we had a good start today & won quickly.”
