Gurgaon Woman Scared Of Being Kidnapped, Jumps Out Of Auto, Tweets “Broken Bones Better Than Getting Lost”

The crime rates in India have been on the rise in the past few years. Especially the crimes against women like rape, molestation, kidnapping, etc. have been doing the rounds since more and more women are now coming out and sharing their traumas with the world. One such woman shared her traumatic experience with the people on the internet via a series of tweets. Yep, a woman in Gurgaon shared a series of tweets where she gave a detailed account of an incident where an auto rickshaw driver allegedly attempted to kidnap her. Needless to say, the tweets went viral.

Nishtha, the woman from Gurgaon, Haryana posted a series of 8 tweets where she narrated a detailed incident where an auto rickshaw driver attempted to kidnap her in the city near Delhi. In her tweets, she reveals that the horrid incident took place at Gurgaon Sector 22, which is seven minutes from her house.

The woman in her tweets revealed that the auto rickshaw driver intentionally took the wrong turn and continued driving towards unfamiliar surroundings. Even after she protested and tried telling him the directions, he did not respond and so she was left with no choice but to jump out of the moving vehicle.

In the tweet, Nishtha also said that when the auto driver took the wrong turn, she shouted at him about the same but he didn’t respond. She wrote, “I shouted literally – ‘bhaiya, mera sector right me tha aap left me kyu leke ja rahe ho.’ He didn’t respond & kept taking god’s name at reasonably high pitch. I hit him 8-10 times on his left shoulder but nothing. The only thought that came to my mind – jump out (4/8)”

And so she jumped out of the moving auto rickshaw and was amazed to see that she wasn’t hurt at all except that she felt some pain in her right shin. After jumping out, Nishtha started walking towards her place while constantly looking back in fear that the driver might return. After a while, she got in an e-rickshaw and reached home.

In one of the tweets, she even mentions that she regrets not being able to note down the auto rickshaw’s number and even tagged the Gurgaon police in her last tweet. And on December 21st, 2022, a day after the incident, she updated the people on the internet that she had visited the Palam Vihar police station where SHO Shri Jitender Yadav himself assured that they will find the auto rickshaw driver.

Just reading the series of tweets from Nishtha has me scared. I mean, can you imagine what she must have gone through when she realised that the driver took the wrong turn and wasn’t even responding to her even though she was shouting at him. But I’m glad she didn’t succumb to the situation and used her presence of mind to jump out of the moving vehicle.
