11 YO Delhi Girl Gets Gang-Raped By School Seniors In The Washroom. How Are Kids Doing Such Heinous Crimes?
One of the saddest things about our country is how women are unsafe no matter where they go. Whether you are at home or elsewhere, a girl always has to be worried about her safety. Recently, news came that an 11-year-old schoolgirl was gang raped by her seniors in the school washroom. What’s worse is that the school tries to dismiss this situation and sweep it under the rug. If a girl cannot approach the adults in school when these things happen, where can she go?
Police officials announced on Thursday that a case has been filed after an 11-year-old kid was reportedly gang-raped by two senior schoolmates inside the restroom of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the nation’s capital. The regional headquarters of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has also ordered an investigation into the matter. The victim alerted the police on Tuesday only when the Delhi Commission for Women brought attention to the problem, even though the claimed event occurred in July (DCW). The DCW sent a notice regarding the incident, which it described as a “serious matter,” to the Delhi Police and the school administrator.
The school administration has been asked to explain why they did not report the event to the police. The victim or her parents did not report the crime to the school principal, according to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) representatives, and it was only discovered after a police probe. Over 1,200 KVs are supervised by KVS, an independent agency under the Ministry of Education that is dispersed across 25 regions of the nation. On Tuesday, the victim reported the incident to the police, who immediately opened an investigation.

DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal stated that the girl claims that her teacher attempted to cover up the incident. It is terribly regrettable that students at the city’s schools face safety risks. She urged swift action in this regard. Maliwal continued that an investigation into the participation of school authorities on the matter must also be performed. The girl reportedly said that on her way to class in July, she bumped into two male classmates who were in classes 11 and 12.

She claimed to have apologised to the boys, but they began to verbally abuse her and drag her into the restroom. She stated that the boys raped her and then closed the bathroom door from the inside. She said that when she contacted a teacher about the assault, she was informed that the guys had been dismissed and the problem had supposedly been covered up, according to a DCW statement. According to KVS representatives, the school administration did not receive any complaints about the situation. “The KVS regional office is looking into the matter. Neither the girl nor her parents reported the incident to the principal. After the incident, a parent-teacher meeting was convened, but no one brought up the subject, according to a top KVS official.
The official said that the police probe has brought the problem to their attention and they are assisting the Delhi Police in its investigations. An extensive investigation, according to the police, is currently being conducted. According to authorities, suspected students and members of the teaching staff are being questioned based on the victim’s statement.
The DCW has requested information from the school principal regarding when the school officials became aware of the issue and what actions they took. Additionally, the panel requested that the school provide a copy of the investigation’s final findings. The DCW has also requested information on any actions taken against the school teacher and/or any other personnel for allegedly failing to report the matter to Delhi Police.
