Four Men Gang-Rape A Bengal Monitor Lizard In Maharashtra. How Low Can Humanity Stoop?
We keep hearing news of women and girls being raped almost every day and our heart goes out to each and every victim. As if reading about this horrendous crime being committed against humans was not enough, now men have even begun raping animals! My head hangs in shame when I realise it is humans who are doing such inhumane acts. One such appalling incident has been reported where four men have gang-raped a Bengal monitor lizard in Maharashtra. It is unimaginable how low humanity can stoop every day and how each incident is worse than the previous one.
Bengal Monitor Lizard Raped In Maharashtra
According to a report by IndiaToday.in, four men have been arrested for allegedly raping a Bengal monitor lizard in the Sahydari Tiger Reserve. This reserve is located near the Gothane village in Maharashtra. These four accused men have been identified as hunters who entered the core zone of the reserve and allegedly committed this heinous crime.
Sandeep Tukram, Pawar Mangesh, Janardhan Kamtekar and Akshay Sunil are the four perpetrators’ names. How the crime came to be caught is a very shocking story in itself! The Maharashtra Forest Department had checked the phones of the accused and they found a video of the act being recorded in it. These men had recorded the entire act on their phones and that is how the police found out. I mean, this is beyond disgusting!

The accused were traced with the help of CCTV footage wherein they can be seen wandering around the reserve. The police authorities have also informed that these perpetrators had come from Kolhapur to Konkan for the purpose of hunting. The forest officials are going to take this case up to the Indian Penal Court. The Bengal monitor lizard is listed as a reserved species under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
