Elon Musk Says Environment Will Be Fine Even If The Population Doubles. Not The Encouragement We Need, But Okay!
SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is often known for his controversial thoughts and tweets. Recently, he has yet again made a debatable statement about the world population and has voiced his arguments about the sustenance of the civilisation as well. Do you remember how in school we were taught that if the population explosion continues, our resources will not be able to sustain us any longer which would lead to food, air and water crisis which would ultimately lead to mass extinction? Well, Elon Musk challenges this notion and has said that it is completely ‘nonsense’.
Elon Musk’s Opinions On World Population
The 50-year-old businessman was recently on the panel of All-In Podcast, wherein he has said that some people think having fewer kids will save the environment and went on to regard this notion as ‘nonsense’. He also said that the environment is going to be okay even if the human population is doubled. Elaborating more, he went on to say we need to ‘maintain’ our numbers and that the population does need to grow dramatically but at the same time, we cannot let our civilisation dwindle away to nothing.

Elon Musk also explained the whole idea by giving an example of japan and its population. He said that Japan is the prime example of the same. The south-east Asian country’s population came down by 600,000 people last year and also went on to say that the country will eventually stop existing if its population kept declining.

He further said that having kids is important for the maintenance of civilisation. Not all parts of his arguments are correct, in my opinion. We know that our resources are being burdened with the steep rise in population with no alternative to the resources either.
