Delhi Village Gets A Library Just For Women Aspirants Preparing For Competitive Exams. This Is Great!

When it comes to women empowerment, the government has over the years made several promises to facilitate it. However, while some provisions stick the landing, more often than not, these steps end up remaining just ideas and rarely ever turn into reality. Or, they take years to become a reality. Having said that, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program has come up with a new, first-of-its-kind project that they have started in a village in Delhi. As per the project, all women aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams in the village have been provided access to a dedicated community library that will motivate them to study. Isn’t that great?

Recently, in the Karala village in Northwest Delhi, the village administration came up with an idea that will encourage and motivate women to study. They built a women’s community library to motivate and encourage all those women aspirants that are preparing for competitive exams for fields like engineering, medicine, UPSC, and others.

This project under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program thought of dedicating a women’s community library since there has been no library dedicated to women before. The Karala village administration even built the library in a way that it was close to the village, so women can have easy access to it.

As per Hindustan Times, the library has ample space and top-notch security that ensures the safety of women. The books in the library for women aspirants of the village are selected by Vision IAS, a center that prepares applicants for civil service exams. And as for the interiors, it is decorated with murals and paintings by the Vrikshit Foundation. The Karala village administration is also planning to create counselling and guidance centers for competitive exams that will take place at periodic intervals.

Kanjhawala’s Sub-District Magistrate, Saumya Sharma said that a library dedicated to women aspirants preparing for competitive exams was a must. According to her, the library will help women to achieve their goals by allowing them to prepare better for these exams. And since the people had sent in many requests to the government to build a library, it was only time that the request was heard.

Building a women’s community library that is dedicated to all women aspirants preparing for competitive exams is a great way to ensure that women all over get inspired and motivated to study. It opens up so many opportunities for women who want to achieve something in life and make a name and a life for themselves. This is truly a step in the right direction.
