DCW Chief Swati Maliwal Seeks Removal Of #MeToo Accused Sajid Khan From ‘Bigg Boss 16’. We Want Him Out Of The Limelight Too!
While Bigg Boss has always been a hot topic for conversation among the masses. With controversial people from all over the country coming together and fighting over something as trivial as household chores. However, the 16th season of the ongoing show has brought more backlash than ever after #MeToo accused, filmmaker Sajid Khan was also made one of the contestants on the show. The director of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), Swati Maliwal has been vocal about how problematic it is for Sajid to be on the show. She has now tweeted to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur, demanding Sajid’s removal from the show.

Swati Maliwa has written to Anurag Thakur seeking the removal of filmmaker Sajid Khan from Bigg Boss due to charges of sexual harassment made against him by numerous women during the #MeToo movement. She tweeted in Hindi saying that during the #MeToo movement, Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by ten women. She then added that these accusations brought Sajid’s disgusting mentality to light. Swati then said that she has requested in a letter to Anurag Thakur that Sajid Khan should be dropped from the show.

After numerous women accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment in 2018, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) put him on a one-year suspension. He quit earlier that year as director of Houseful 4, as Farhad Samji took over. I have said this before and I will say it again, Sajid Khan was given the opportunity to redeem himself in any capacity. He was accused by numerous women of sexual assault and got away with little to no repercussions as there were no legal charges against the man. Moreover, no one has bothered to even address these allegations in Bigg Boss 16 and are acting as if this man isn’t a threat to the people around him. In such a case, can we blame Swati Maliwal or anyone else who desperately wants this man out of the limelight?
