Shilpa Shetty’s Husband Raj Kundra Booked By ED For Money Laundering In Connection With Pornography Case

Last year was a really tough time for actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra after the latter was arrested in a pornography case and was kept in judicial custody for nearly two months. As if that wasn’t bad enough, trouble seems to have come knocking on this couple’s door once again. Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered a case of money laundering against Raj Kundra in connection with the alleged porn racket case.

According to media reports, the ED will now probe into the financial transactions of Raj Kundra among other accused in the case. The word is that the businessman will be called in for questioning with regards to the same in the coming days. FYI, Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police in 2021 for allegedly running a porn racket in India and outside as well. Earlier, on Tuesday, during the trailer launch of her upcoming film Nikamma, Shilpa Shetty was asked about her husband’s arrest in the porn racket case but she declined to comment on the same but she did speak about having a ‘difficult’ time in the last two years.

For the unversed, Raj Kundra was accused of being the key conspirator in the porn racket case in 2021. It all started with some arrests made by the Mumbai Police in a case where women were being forced to act in porn films. The police finally arrested Raj Kundra after their investigations pointed them to him. It was alleged that the businessman was distributing pornographic content on the subscription-based mobile app Hotshots among others.

The alleged porn racket case goes back to February 2021 when the Mumbai Police made the first arrests in the case where women were being forced to star in porn movies. The app which has now been taken down from the play store was founded by Raj Kundra and was later sold to a UK-based firm owned by his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi. But the Mumbai Police had revealed that they found porn clips in Raj Kundra’s office along with WhatsApp chats that suggest that the businessman is the one who is still running the day-to-day operations of the app and the content that is being uploaded.
