Shilpa Shetty Refuses To Talk About Raj Kundra’s Arrest In Pornography Case, Says “It’s Time To Celebrate New Beginnings”
Over the last few years, B-town has been rocked by some serious scandals and incidents which sent shockwaves across the country. One such incident was Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra’s arrest in an alleged pornography racket case. Amid the controversy and chaos, actress Shilpa Shetty chose to remain mum and not speak about the issue to the media at all. But recently, during the launch of the trailer of her upcoming action-comedy film, Nikamma, starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in the lead roles, the actress was asked a question regarding her husband’s arrest in the porn case last year.

Responding to the question, the actress refused to talk about the issue while pointing out that the event was about her upcoming film and not about her personal life. But at the same time, she shared that she went through a difficult phase in her life. Sharing that the last 2 years have been difficult for everyone and the film industry in general, Shilpa Shetty said that the films have been ready but haven’t seen the light of the day as people couldn’t come to the theatres. She further added that this is a big moment for the team. Speaking about her character in the film, the actress said that her character is all about braving the storm and playing a ‘superwoman’. “I think we all have played this very strong character in our real lives. Many of us don’t talk about it. We’ve all been very strong and we’ve braved the storm, and I think it is time to celebrate newer beginnings and positivity,” she said. TBH, we’ve all got to stop pestering the actress with all these personal questions and let her just be. It’s not right to constantly remind her of something from the past and push her to answer uncomfortable questions.

For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested in July in Mumbai last year and was sent to judicial custody. At that time, the actress had requested people to respect their privacy. In September 2021, her husband was granted bail after remaining in the custody for almost two months. He had been accused of being a key conspirator in a pornography racket. The police had claimed that they had sufficient evidence that Raj Kundra was involved in the creation and publishing of pornographic films through some apps.

On the work front, Shilpa Shetty will be seen in the upcoming film Nikamma alongside Shirley Sethia and Abhimanyu Dassani. Directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films, Nikamma is all set to hit the big screens near us on July 17. The actress will also be seen in Sukhee alongside Amit Sadh. She also her Rohit Shetty’s action web series alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Indian Police Force in her kitty.
