Jennifer Grey Opens About Her Nose Jobs, Says They Made Her Completely ‘Unrecognisable’
Women are always subjected to unrealistic beauty standards and are always expected to have the perfect body. These foolish expectations become the norm and women who do not conform to them are ridiculed or shamed. The film industry is the hotbed where these impracticable body standards are set. Several actresses have had surgeries done to enhance their breasts, make their lips look fuller or get a nose job done. Recently, actress Jennifer Grey has opened up about the two rhinoplasties she got done and how she become ‘unrecognisable’ after them. She also has admitted that it was her mother who pushed her to get a nose job done.
Jennifer Grey On Her Two-Time Rhinoplasty
In an interview with People magazine, the Dirty Dancing star has spilt it all regarding her going under the knife. She has recalled the time post her second rhinoplasty when she had attended a movie premier and Michael Douglas did not recognise her. She said, “That was the first time I had gone out in public. And it became the thing, the idea of being completely invisible, from one day to the next. In the world’s eyes, I was no longer me. And the weird thing was that thing that I resisted my whole life, and the thing I was so upset with my mother for always telling me I should do my nose.”

The 62-year-old actor has discussed these subjects in her upcoming memoir Out Of The Corner which is going to be released on May 3, 2022. Elaborating more about her mother’s suggestion of getting a nose job, Grey said, “She loves me, loved me, always has, and she was pragmatic because she was saying, ‘Guess what? It’s too hard to cast you. Make it easier for them.'”

She further added that she was against rhinoplasty as a kid. Jennifer also went on to add about the time her parents got nose jobs in the 1950s and said, “I understood that you had to change your name and you had to do certain things, and it was just normalized, right? You can’t be gay. You can’t be Jewish. You know, you can’t look Jewish. You’re just trying to fit into whatever is the group think.”
