‘House Of The Dragon’ Trailer: The Iron Throne Is Back Along With A Fiery Targaryen Power Struggle To Win It!
Much like his previous creations, George R.R. Martin (the writer/creator of Game Of Thrones) is set to create wonder, and marvel as he dares to set the screen ablaze, once again, with his latest show, House Of The Dragon. The trailer clearly opens up by showing us a major power struggle, it shows us, everyone, from the Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen all the way to the others, aiming, fighting and struggling to make their victory for a chance at the Iron Throne.
King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) is seen talking about his dream which told him that his heir of choice is to be declared. His first-born daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) is the first contender, of course, but, a lot of people also want his brother, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) as the heir. Alas, we are also made privy to the fact that a woman isn’t allowed to take over the throne but, her powers and connection with the dragons have been made clear- it might be her destiny to be the first woman to do so.

This results in the creation of a massive Targaryen civil war which is also known as The Dance Of The Dragons. All the contenders unleash their power, might and swords to risk it all for the Iron Throne, once again. I mean, we probably should’ve seen this coming with George R.R. Martin, huh?
Viserys’ cousin i.e. the Rhaenys Targaryen who is also known as the ‘Queen Who Never Was’ is seen saying in the trailer, “Rhaenyra’s succession will be challenged, knives will come out.” Later, she is seen telling the others, “A woman would not inherit the Iron Throne because that is the order of things.” It looks like someone is holding grudges about their own position as a woman, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, we get a glimpse of an older Rhaenyra who says, “When I am the queen, I will create a new order.” Chills, literal chills.
I think I’ve already picked my side here. Have you? This fiery power struggle for the throne is bound to leave us all gasping, smiling and glued to our screens in absolute shock, much like the show’s predecessor, Game of Thrones. It’s set to be an absolute adventure. Are you prepared for it?
Well. thankfully, we wouldn’t have to wait a whole lot of time as House Of The Dragon is set to premiere on HBO Max on August 21 and it will begin streaming in India, on Disney+ Hotstar, on August 22.
Let’s hold out our breath and hope the date comes by, soon enough, huh?
