UAE Agency Orders Asset Freeze Of Desi Bling Fame Satish Sanpal, Tabinda: Reports

Desi Bling became one of the most popular Netflix shows, which featured the couple Satish Sanpal and Tabinda Sanpal. The couple went viral on social media for various reasons, including their luxurious lifestyle. Earlier news reports suggested that the couple was under investigation for money laundering, and according to the latest updates, their assets have been frozen by a UAE agency. Satish Sanpal, Tabinda’s Assets Frozen: Reports
During the Desi Blings show, Satish Sanpal and Tabinda Sanpal had spoken about their riches and how they loved owning gold. Now, a report by NDTV suggests that the couple’s assets have been temporarily frozen by the UAE’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), which a anti-money laundering agency. As per the reports, the agency has ordered the freezing of the couple’s accounts temporarily at banks, financial institutions and virtual asset service providers (VASPs) across the UAE. Reports suggest that this order has now been given for 30 days, and the agency can extend the period as and if required.
As per the reports, Satish Sanpal has also been asked to submit the required documents to prove the transactions and the source of his other funds. For the unversed, the reports suggest that Satish Sanpal still holds an Indian passport.

Satish Sanpal’s advocate responded to the publication and addressed the asset freeze questions. According to the representative, the matter has to be investigated first. The advocate also added that no officials or authorities have published such reports, to their knowledge.

Satish Sanpal and Tabinda Sanpal also received backlash on social media after the latter’s comment about her giving her husband foot massages every morning for good things to happen in life. Such comments were not entertained by the internet users and were criticised for being regressive.
